The Time Shadow

TimeShadow
For his eight’s movement to appear in a watch bearing his name, (for other brands, he has designed and constructed many more), Andreas Strehler has designed a watch limited to eight pieces.

The indication of the watch is reduced to the two basic indications of hours and minutes, but with a twist.

The hours are indicated by a black rotating disk, black like the eight ball in the eponymous pool billiards game. This hour disk, finished in wire-cut, turns around a small disk displaying the typical Andreas Strehler butterfly logo.

No clock of comparable level of complexity was ever produced in Russia, it took no less than two years to create conception, develop and assemble movement and build artisanal semiprecious stones case.

Watch with a classical dial is truly impressive just for few times a day. Every watch with hands in dial modestly laughs at 10:10 and 13:50, and expresses moderate sadness at 15:40 and 20:20. New ‘Joker’ watch, presented
by Konstantin Chaykin in BaselWorld-2017, is fitted with disk hours and minutes indicators as well as moon-
phase display.

Russian Time

Russian Time Steel

«Our native land is vast – this we know from early childhood. And immense. And filled with good and wonderful things – forests, rivers, fields, many time zones…and it is these time zones that we at the Konstantin Chaykin Manufacture put at the heart of our new watch, the Russian Time Watch, reveals Konstantin Chaykin, the well-known master watchmaker and Head of the Manufacture. Moscow, Chelyabinsk, Norilsk, Yakutsk, Chersky, Samara, Kaliningrad, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Anadyr, and Vladivostok. Russia’s eleven time zones are named after these cities, and so are the time zones depicted on the Russian Time Watch.
